Hiperbaric Brings HIP Presses Rated to 207 MPa, 2,000°C to IMTS 2026

Chicago – – September 12, 2026 -- Hiperbaric will exhibit its Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) equipment line at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) 2026, running September 14 to 19 at McCormick Place, with the company positioned at Booth 236028 in the North Building, Level 3.

Presses reach 207 MPa and up to 2,000°C to close internal porosity in cast and additively manufactured parts

Hiperbaric's HIP systems operate at pressures up to 207 MPa (30,000 psi), with maximum temperatures set by furnace type: 2,000°C (3,632°F) using graphite furnaces or 1,400°C (2,552°F) using molybdenum. The process eliminates internal porosity and micro-defects from casting and powder-bed additive manufacturing, bringing metallic parts to full theoretical density and improving fatigue life, ductility, and impact strength. For additively manufactured components, HIP is the step that aligns mechanical performance with forged material; some ceramic parts can retain minor residual porosity.

HIP 38 and HIP 107 systems span qualification runs to serial production

The HIP 38 features a 380 mm (14.96 in) hot zone diameter and 850 mm (33.46 in) usable height, sized for medium production capacities. The HIP 107 scales to a 1,075 mm (42.3 in) diameter and 2,670 mm (105.1 in) height for serial production runs. Both units operate at 207 MPa and reach the same temperature ceilings across furnace types, sharing a control architecture designed for repeatable cycle parameters from first qualification through full production.
