Charlotte – September 28, 2026 -- Huntington National Bank will install its name atop the One South office tower in uptown Charlotte and expand its regional headquarters to four full floors, doubling its footprint in the building as it deepens its commitment to North Carolina and South Carolina.
Huntington doubles its footprint at One South tower
Huntington will occupy the entire 39th and 40th floors of the 40-story building at 101 S. Tryon St., adding to two floors it already holds and bringing its total presence to four full floors. The bank opened its regional headquarters at One South in 2023 and now houses several hundred colleagues there and across the greater Charlotte area, spanning multiple business segments and operational functions.
Signage will crown Charlotte's financial district skyline
The signage, facing South Tryon Street at the intersection of Trade and Tryon, will be fabricated and installed by SouthWood Corporation, a veteran-owned firm based in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Installation is expected within the coming weeks. The display will feature Huntington's signature green with programmable lighting capable of changing colors to mark community events, joining other buildings across uptown Charlotte in similar displays.
One South is owned by Monarch Alternative Capital and Tourmaline Capital Partners and is leased and managed by Trinity Partners.
Branch buildout continues alongside HQ expansion
The Charlotte investment follows a broader regional push: Huntington expanded into Commercial Banking in the Carolinas in 2023, grew its capital markets presence in Charlotte, and in 2024 announced plans to open approximately 55 branches across North and South Carolina. To date, the bank has opened 14 full-service branches across 10 markets in the region, with additional locations still to come.
