Baker oversees Siris' portfolio and leads its investment strategy, focusing on value creation in established technology firms with mission-critical products navigating technological shifts.
IBM CEO Arvind Krishna cites Baker's strategy-driven mindset as key to shareholder value
Krishna said the company is excited to welcome Baker to the board, adding that his expertise and leadership will strengthen IBM's business as it advances enterprise-wide technology transformation for clients.
Baker's career spans Goldman Sachs, Ripplewood Holdings, and multiple nonprofit board roles
Before co-founding Siris, Baker served as a Managing Director at Ripplewood Holdings and began his career in mergers and acquisitions at Goldman Sachs. He currently serves as a trustee of the University of Chicago, Chairman of the Board of the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center, and a trustee of Deerfield Academy.
Baker, born and raised near Detroit, Michigan, holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in economics from the University of Chicago.
