IHG Brings Voco Brand to Udaipur With 140-Key Hotel Set for Q1 2029 Opening

SHERIDAN, WYOMING -- June 17, 2026 -- IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Circle View Estate Private Ltd to develop voco Udaipur, a 140-key newbuild hotel scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2029. The agreement extends IHG's premium voco brand into one of India's most established leisure markets, adding to the company's growing footprint in Rajasthan. For Circle View Estate, partnering with IHG brings access to global brand systems, commercial expertise and a guest proposition built around individual character rather than uniform branding. The deal adds another premium signing to IHG's expansion across high-demand Indian destinations.

Voco Targets Udaipur's Leisure and Wedding Demand

Udaipur draws steady leisure traffic for its lakes, palaces and old-city architecture. The city also pulls a heavy share of India's wedding and events business, a segment both partners pointed to in describing the opportunity. voco Udaipur will sit on the foothills of the Aravalli range, with views over the city below. That setting, paired with established demand from domestic and international travellers, shaped the decision to anchor a flagship voco property there.

140 Rooms, Two Restaurants and Event Space Planned

The hotel will include 140 guestrooms and suites. Two dining venues are planned: an all-day restaurant and a bar. A swimming pool, fitness centre, spa and meeting and event space round out the offering. That mix targets two distinct guest groups under one roof, corporate travellers booking meetings and leisure or wedding guests booking multi-day stays. Few hotels in the city currently combine that range of facilities under a single premium brand.

Newbuild Hotel Targets Q1 2029 Opening

IHG and Circle View Estate are building voco Udaipur from the ground up rather than converting an existing property. The two partners have set a target opening window of the first quarter of 2029, giving the developer roughly three years to complete construction and fit-out. That timeline places voco Udaipur alongside other newbuild premium hotels currently moving through IHG's India pipeline. For owners evaluating the brand elsewhere in the country, the project offers a visible benchmark for how long a comparable newbuild takes from signing to opening.

Sudeep Jain Calls Udaipur a Compelling Market for Premium Growth

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, framed the signing as part of a longer-running India strategy.

"India is a strategically important market for IHG globally, and we continue to strengthen our portfolio in destinations where we see long-term demand and strong owner interest. Udaipur is one of the country's most recognised leisure destinations, with a well-established appeal across domestic travel, weddings and events, making it a compelling market for premium brand growth. As our fastest-growing premium brand globally, voco continues to resonate with guests through its individual character, thoughtful touches and unstuffy approach to hospitality, while offering owners the confidence of IHG's global enterprise systems and commercial expertise. We are delighted to partner with Circle View Estate Private Ltd to bring voco to Udaipur and further strengthen our premium portfolio in Rajasthan."

Circle View Estate Sees Local Fit for a Global Brand

Nakul Karnawat, Director, Circle View Estate Private Ltd, said the developer saw a clear opening for voco's positioning in Udaipur.

"We are pleased to partner with IHG Hotels & Resorts to introduce voco to Udaipur. voco's unique brand personality, combined with IHG's global enterprise systems, commercial expertise and strong brand reputation, makes it an ideal fit for this market. We are confident the hotel will become a preferred choice for travellers seeking a premium and memorable stay experience in Udaipur."

voco Udaipur Joins a 52-Hotel India Portfolio

voco Udaipur joins a roster of 52 IHG hotels already operating in India across six brands, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Express and Holiday Inn Resort. IHG also lists a pipeline of 98 hotels due to open across the country over the next three to five years. Udaipur becomes one stop within that broader build-out, not a stand-alone bet on a single city. Owners and operators watching the market can read it plainly: IHG is choosing leisure destinations beyond India's largest metro markets for premium growth, and Udaipur is the latest example.
