InCoax, Nokia Launch Live MoCA Broadband Rollout at Sjoberg's US Network

Lund, Sweden – September 07, 2026 -- InCoax Networks has activated the first live installations of a planned 30-to-40-building deployment for Sjoberg's Inc., a Thief River Falls, Minnesota-based cable operator founded in 1962, marking the commercial debut of its joint solution with Nokia in a U.S. operator network.

The rollout uses InCoax technology integrated into Nokia Gigabit Connect with MoCA Access to deliver fiber-based multi-gigabit broadband over existing coaxial wiring inside apartment buildings, avoiding the cost and disruption of installing new fiber throughout each structure.

"For InCoax, these are the first live installations resulting from our collaboration with Nokia and therefore represent an important milestone," said Jakob Tobieson, CEO of InCoax Networks. He described the activation as the transition from product integration and validation to live deployment, providing a reference case as InCoax and Nokia pursue further operator opportunities.

Sjoberg's integrates MoCA diagnostics into its TruVizion platform

Sjoberg's has folded Nokia DPU and InCoax MoCA technology data into its TruVizion broadband diagnostics platform, giving the operator visibility into MoCA status and performance alongside other network diagnostics. The solution is managed through Nokia's Altiplano Access Controller, which provides unified provisioning and lifecycle management across both fiber/PON and coax/MoCA infrastructure.

Deployment covers Fiber Access Extension use case, with FWA support also available

The Sjoberg's project applies the Fiber Access Extension model, in which existing in-building coax carries fiber-based broadband from the building entry point to individual subscriber units. InCoax's MoCA Access platform additionally supports FWA Extension deployments, allowing operators to distribute connectivity inside multi-dwelling units served by fixed wireless access, without new in-building cabling.

InCoax cites reduced construction and material use as a sustainability benefit

InCoax has published a whitepaper examining the sustainability and cost benefits of reusing coaxial infrastructure for multi-gigabit broadband delivery in apartment settings, arguing that avoiding new cabling and construction work cuts material use during deployment.
