“That’s why we opted to have our operations certified according to ISO standard 14001:2015. We were successful, which means that we’ve made our first major step towards achieving the aims of KaVo’s environmental policy. However, we need to make sure that environmental action is a constant consideration in everything we do at the company if we are to achieve our goals.”

KaVo emphasizes efficient and respectful use of vital resources—like energy, water, and materials—across every department. Switch to 100% green electricity at key sites
KaVo has already implemented significant changes, such as switching entirely to green electricity at its two major production facilities in Biberach and Warthausen. This marks a crucial milestone in the company's broader effort to operate more sustainably.

KaVo is holding itself accountable through ongoing audits and clearly defined environmental objectives. “We are on a very positive path when it comes to our increasingly efficient use of resources,” says Klaus Reisenauer.
Impressive savings in gas and water usage
“In 2022, for instance, we were able to reduce our gas consumption by 20%, and water consumption by 16% compared to the previous year, despite a slight increase in the number of employees. But we know that our goals are ambitious. We are aware of our responsibility and take our goals seriously.”
Innovative Investments for Long-Term Impact
In-house energy production and emissions tracking
To further lower its environmental impact, KaVo plans to generate 15% of its electricity in-house using photovoltaic systems. It also aims to cut heating-related energy consumption by an additional 5%. A dedicated KaVo CO₂ database is being developed to critically track emissions and guide targeted reduction strategies.
Accelerating the shift to electromobility
Electromobility plays a central role in KaVo’s green future. The company is aiming for a complete transition to electric vehicles within its fleet over the next three years. The first electric cars are already in use—demonstrating that this goal is not just aspirational, but actively underway.
