LAMVIN Launches Sonic Theater Board for Commercial Acoustic Control

Oceanside, Calif. – September 23, 2026 -- LAMVIN, a Catalyst Acoustics Group brand, has launched Sonic Theater Board, a rigid, black sound-absorptive panel targeting reverberation control in commercial, educational, hospitality, and entertainment spaces.

Product ships in field-cuttable boards for renovation and new-build projects

The panels are offered in standard 4' x 8' boards, plus 2' x 2' and 2' x 4' tiles, and can be trimmed on site with a standard utility knife to fit virtually any ceiling grid. LAMVIN says the design targets faster installation timelines for contractors working across both retrofit and new construction jobs.

Two densities and thicknesses target varied project specifications

Sonic Theater Board is available in 3 lb. and 6 lb. densities, with 1-inch and 2-inch thickness options, allowing specifiers to match sound-absorption performance to specific room requirements. The product carries a Class A fire rating under ASTM E84 and supports multiple mounting systems, including Z-Clips, L-Brackets, and Rotofast Snap-On and Cloud Anchors.

Executive cites rising demand for adaptable acoustic materials

David Castellanos, LAMVIN's VP of Sales & Business Development, said customers increasingly need products that combine acoustic performance with field flexibility. "Sonic Theater Board gives contractors and designers the flexibility to customize board sizes right in the field while delivering the sound absorption needed to transform noisy spaces into more comfortable, functional environments," he said.

The launch addresses a broader push among designers to prioritize speech intelligibility and occupant comfort in shared environments such as offices, schools, performance venues, and restaurants, where noise control has become a specification requirement rather than an afterthought.
