Paris – September 21, 2026 -- Legend Robot previewed its CE-compliant autonomous latex paint and putty spraying robot at BATIMAT 2026, citing a field-validated peak output of 237 square meters per hour during a hotel renovation in Athens, Greece. The system, developed with European partner ROBOSWISS AG, is positioned to address skilled labor shortages across European construction markets while meeting EU CE safety standards.

During a brownfield renovation for Gnosis Investments Group in Athens, Legend Robot's continuous spraying fleet executed 2-coat and 3-coat latex wall finishing across 19 distinct room layouts, compensating for manual substrate imperfections. The robots operated on direct electrical stabilization throughout the project, combining CE safety compliance with a material waste reduction of up to 15%, according to the company.
Legend Robot targets 30% efficiency gain through AI-driven closed-loop optimization
The company unveiled a technology roadmap at BATIMAT 2026 that moves its finishing machinery from automated operation toward full autonomy. AI closed-loop models will ingest real-time jobsite data to dynamically adjust spraying trajectories, velocity and standoff distance, with a targeted 30% productivity improvement over the company's Gen-3 units.
New sensor integration enables real-time obstacle avoidance on active jobsites
Integrated sensors are designed to detect structural beams, utility conduits and dynamic obstacles, rerouting spray paths automatically to reduce the need for human intervention. Legend Robot said the next phase of development unifies 3D spatial scanning with algorithmic path planning, allowing robots to interpret site topography and adapt finishing consistency without manual recalibration.
