Seoul – September 20, 2026 -- LG Display has begun mass production of a 24.5-inch Gaming OLED panel with a 720Hz refresh rate, the highest ever achieved in a gaming OLED display, alongside a 0.02ms response time.
LG Display sets new refresh-rate benchmark for esports monitors
The panel is the first OLED display built specifically for the esports segment, where 24-inch class monitors dominate because they let players view the full screen at a glance. To hit 720Hz at FHD (1920x1080) resolution, LG Display developed a proprietary driving algorithm and an integrated design spanning panel construction to the driving system, reducing motion blur and ghosting in fast-paced genres such as first-person shooter and racing games.
ASUS integrates panel into monitor selected for PGL CS2 Major Singapore 2026
The panel debuts in ASUS's ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace gaming monitor, which has been named the official esports monitor for PGL CS2 Major Singapore 2026, a leading tournament on the Counter-Strike 2 circuit.
LG Display expands gaming OLED lineup from 20-inch to 40-inch class
The company plans to broaden its gaming display portfolio across sizes from 20 inches to 40 inches, with select products incorporating its Dynamic Frequency & Resolution (DFR) technology. LG Display is also accelerating artificial intelligence transformation (AX) across gaming display development to widen its technology lead over competitors.
"As a technology-driven company, we will lead the transition to OLED in the gaming monitor market and lead the mainstreaming of OLED in the global market," said Hyeon-woo Lee, Head of the Large Display Business Unit at LG Display.
