Lighteum Medical Names Gaurav Agarwal as New CEO

San Diego – September 07, 2026 -- Lighteum Medical has appointed Gaurav Agarwal as Chief Executive Officer, effective August 31, 2026, bringing nearly 30 years of medtech leadership to the precision component manufacturer.

Agarwal joins with a track record of over $15 billion in M&A activity and $11 billion in private equity dispositions

Agarwal most recently served as President and CEO of PE-backed Capsa Healthcare, where he delivered more than 20% revenue and EBITDA growth within 18 months, completed two tuck-in acquisitions, and expanded the company into software and services. He previously led Vyaire Medical as President and CEO, and held senior roles at Acelity/KCI, Smith & Nephew, and GE Healthcare. At Acelity/KCI, he oversaw global commercial operations during a portfolio transformation that preceded the company's $6.725 billion sale to 3M.

Lighteum Medical combines MDC's manufacturing scale with Lighteum LLC's speed roughly one year after their merger

Lighteum Medical, a portfolio company of private equity firm Montagu, was formed through the combination of Medical Device Components LLC (MDC) and Lighteum LLC. The company specializes in platinum group metals and high-complexity nitinol-based components, serving medical device manufacturers through metallurgy, micromachining, femtosecond laser processing, shape-setting, and electropolishing capabilities.

Company operates four manufacturing sites across three countries to support global medtech customers

Lighteum Medical runs manufacturing and technology centers in San Diego and Oceanside, California; Mexicali, Mexico; and Tullamarine, Australia. Gregory T. Lucier, Chairman of the Board, said Agarwal has demonstrated an ability to translate strategy into disciplined execution and sustained performance throughout his career.

Agarwal said he intends to spend time understanding customer needs as the company works to support minimally invasive medical device development.
