Hackensack, N.J. – September 08, 2026 -- LiveU has joined the IBC Accelerator Incubator 2026's Smart Stories initiative, a consortium of more than a dozen broadcasters and technology vendors building the Story Object Model (SOM), an open standard designed to give newsroom production tools a shared, structured view of a story's editorial context.

The Smart Stories project brings together champions including ITN, BBC, AP, Al Jazeera, Channel 4, Washington Post, ITV, Sky, EBU, NBCUniversal, Reuters, Scripps and SMPTE, alongside technology participants such as Google Cloud, AWS, Shure, Trint, Cognizant, EVS, CUEZ, Vizrt and Moments Lab. The group spans the full content chain from field acquisition through distribution.
