Singapore – September 29, 2026 -- MagPro, operating as Nanjing CIPU Technology Co., Ltd., has launched the AeroLev 1850, a 1.85 MW-class air-cooled magnetic-bearing chiller designed to cut water use in AI data centers built in arid, high-ambient regions.
Platform eliminates cooling towers to remove water dependency
AeroLev 1850 uses a cooling-tower-free, oil-free magnetic-levitation architecture paired with intelligent controls, removing evaporative cooling water as an operational constraint for facilities in water-stressed markets. The chiller is rated to operate at ambient temperatures up to 45°C.
Magnetic-levitation compressor hits 87% isentropic efficiency
The unit's dedicated air-cooled maglev compressor delivers isentropic efficiency of up to 87%, while a patented condenser achieves subcooling of more than 3°C. Standard EC fans add further efficiency gains, combining to produce up to 40% higher overall energy efficiency versus conventional oil-lubricated compressor systems.
Reliability and maintenance costs drop against conventional chillers
MagPro reports up to 8% lower failure rates compared with oil-lubricated compressor systems and up to 10% lower maintenance costs relative to conventional chillers. The platform's free-cooling function draws on ambient air during cooler periods to reduce compressor runtime and lower power consumption.
Chilled water output supports direct-to-chip and immersion cooling
AeroLev 1850 can supply chilled water at temperatures up to 45°C, aligning with the shift toward direct-to-chip and immersion liquid cooling architectures without requiring major infrastructure reinvestment. Its modular design is built for rapid installation and expansion as AI compute capacity scales.
Executives frame launch as response to tightening water constraints
William Wu, General Manager of Nanjing CIPU Technology Co., Ltd., said water constraints are becoming a defining factor in data-center site selection, and the platform is intended to support compute growth in challenging environments. Alick Wan, Founder and Chairman of EPG Data Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., said the joint venture combines EPG's engineering and delivery expertise with CIGU's magnetic-levitation technology to build resource-efficient digital infrastructure less reliant on water.
MagPro combines maglev turbomachinery expertise with modular data-center delivery
The venture pairs CIGU Technology Corp. Ltd., a STAR Market-listed maglev turbomachinery manufacturer that has delivered more than 10,000 maglev units worldwide, with EPG Data Technology, a modular data-center infrastructure provider with more than 1,500 employees and manufacturing sites in Shanghai and Malaysia. MagPro operates a production base exceeding 6,000 square meters and two air-cooled laboratories capable of testing units up to 2,000 kW.
