College Station, Texas – September 13, 2026 -- Matica Biotechnology, a Texas-based cell and gene therapy CDMO, has entered a collaboration with Bondwell Technologies to advance the latter's proprietary protein bioprocessing platform toward manufacturing readiness.
Matica Bio will provide development expertise to prepare Bondwell's technology for commercialization
Under the agreement, Matica Bio will support Bondwell Technologies, headquartered in College Station, in scaling its proprietary protein technology for bioprocessing and life science applications. The collaboration is designed to move Bondwell's platform closer to manufacturing readiness and future commercial deployment.
Bondwell's first licensed application already targets bioprocessing through BioPure Inc.
Bondwell Technologies has licensed the initial application of its protein platform to BioPure, Inc. for bioprocessing use, positioning the collaboration with Matica Bio as a step toward validating the technology on industrial-scale equipment.
Executives frame the deal as validation-driven, not marketing-driven
"A new technology does not get adopted because the company that built it says it works. It gets adopted when a manufacturer runs it on their own equipment and reports what happened," said David Howell, PhD, CEO of Bondwell Technologies, adding that proximity to development expertise makes it practical to build the technology in Texas.
