Rancho Santa Fe – September 18, 2026 -- Meriwether Companies has completed a $50 million renovation of La Valle Coastal Club, a 300-acre private club and resort property in Rancho Santa Fe, California, roughly three miles from Del Mar's beaches.
Golf infrastructure absorbs the largest share of capital investment
The property now offers 27 holes across three nine-hole courses -- Olivos, Cedros and Palmas -- following a rebuild that included new routing across an additional 20 acres for the former East Course. Practice facilities were expanded to include a driving range with 40 hitting bays, a 12,000-square-foot putting green and a separate 5,000-square-foot social putting green.
Guesthouse Hotel repositions as club-access hospitality asset
The 77-room Guesthouse Hotel at La Valle was fully reimagined, giving registered hotel guests access to the private club's amenities during their stay, including otherwise members-only golf courses through stay-and-play offerings.
Verde Wellness Center adds rare treatment technology to Southern California market
The new wellness facility organizes offerings around fitness, recovery, longevity and vitality, including infrared and halotherapy saunas, cold plunges, and Lumati Red Light+ multi-spectrum therapy. La Valle Coastal Club is one of only three venues in Southern California to offer the Lumati suite.
Racquet sports capacity expands to 22 total courts
The property now features eight LED-lit tennis courts, 12 pickleball courts and two Padel courts, supported by full-time professionals and a new indoor-outdoor bar located at the expanded pickleball complex.
Dining overhaul centers on Gather California Kitchen and Swing Suite lounge
The revitalized signature restaurant features a California-driven menu with items such as West Coast Wagyu burger and Tijuana braised short rib, while the Swing Suite speakeasy-style lounge includes individual member liquor lockers and a Full Swing multi-sport simulator.
"We saw an incredible opportunity to honor what has made this property a special part of the Rancho Santa Fe community for decades while creating something that reflects the evolution of how people want to spend their time today," said Dave Likins, partner of Meriwether Companies.
Meriwether Companies, founded in 2011, also lists Coral Mountain, a 400-acre master-planned property in La Quinta, California, and Cabo Real Surf Club in Los Cabos, Mexico, among its current development projects.
