Miral Commits AED 12 Billion to Expand Yas Island Over Five Years

Abu Dhabi – September 17, 2026 -- Miral will invest more than AED 12 billion in Yas Island over the next five years, funding new attractions, expanded theme parks and additional hotel capacity across the Abu Dhabi destination.

Investment targets attraction expansion and hospitality growth

The capital will support new immersive rides and experiences at existing theme parks, alongside enhancements designed to meet shifting visitor expectations. Miral also plans to grow Yas Island's hotel room inventory and upgrade its accommodation portfolio as part of the five-year pipeline.

Spending sits outside the previously announced Disney project

The AED 12 billion commitment is separate from Miral's earlier announced Disney development on Yas Island, representing an additional layer of investment rather than a consolidation of existing plans.

Chairman links spending to Abu Dhabi's 2030 tourism strategy

H.E. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral, said the investment builds on Yas Island's momentum and supports Abu Dhabi's ambition to strengthen its position as a global tourism and entertainment hub. He tied the plan to the emirate's broader economic diversification goals, citing contributions to job creation and skills development in the tourism sector.

Yas Island expansion aligns with Tourism Strategy 2030

Miral positioned the investment as direct support for Abu Dhabi's Tourism Strategy 2030, reinforcing Yas Island's role as a leisure and entertainment destination intended to draw international visitors over the coming decade.
