San Jose, Calif. – September 07, 2026 -- MulticoreWare, Inc. has acquired Simulus Automation Pvt. Ltd., a semiconductor design and verification specialist, to merge hardware engineering with its existing AI software and accelerated computing business.

MulticoreWare adds native FPGA design capabilities to its compute portfolio

The deal brings High-Level Synthesis and RTL implementation expertise in-house, completing MulticoreWare's heterogeneous compute stack alongside its existing CPU, GPU, DSP, and NPU capabilities. The combined team will target sensor fusion and Physical AI workloads for edge and robotics applications.

Deal adds CXL and PCIe protocol expertise to address interconnect bottlenecks

As heterogeneous SoCs integrate programmable logic directly into chip fabric, data transfer across architectures has become a limiting factor. Simulus Automation's design and verification work in CXL and PCIe protocols gives MulticoreWare capabilities in high-bandwidth, low-latency interconnects for distributed processing systems.

Combined engineering team to scale Cloud FPGA deployment with hyperscalers

The acquisition expands MulticoreWare's ability to distribute repetitive workloads onto Cloud FPGAs, allowing customers to deploy and emulate AI workloads through global hyperscaler infrastructure.

MulticoreWare said the combined organization will target growing demand across AI infrastructure, spatial intelligence, industrial automation, and edge computing.
