(NYSE American: MYND) said its subsidiary Promethean has launched an AI Companion for its Explain Everything app, using on-device artificial intelligence through Apple Intelligence to let educators convert classroom content into teaching materials within seconds.
AI Companion generates lesson materials directly on compatible Apple devices
Available now on devices running iPadOS 27 or iOS 27 with Apple Intelligence enabled, the tool lets teachers select text, images or drawings on an Explain Everything page and generate lesson plans, quizzes, vocabulary lists and suggested activities. Output appears directly within the Explain Everything canvas, eliminating the need to switch between platforms.
On-device processing keeps data off external servers
AI Companion operates entirely on the user's device without an internet connection, so data does not leave the device. Promethean said this removes the privacy-administration burden schools face when using third-party cloud processing. The tool also produces audio narrations, translates text for non-native English speakers, and generates accessibility descriptions.
Explain Everything has logged more than 25 million downloads globally
Explain Everything, recognized by Apple as an App Store Editors' Choice, combines content creation, presentation, recording and collaboration on an infinite canvas. AI Companion joins existing intelligent features including Image Playground, Isolate Subject, Recognize Drawings and Scan Text.
Feature is included at no extra cost for paid-tier subscribers
AI Companion is available to Explain Everything Advanced and Pro users without additional charge.
