NKT Sets Capital Allocation Framework, Moves Up Karlskrona Plant Timeline

Copenhagen – September 29, 2026 -- NKT used its Investor Day 2026 in Karlskrona, Sweden, to unveil a formal capital allocation framework and confirm that commercial operation at its expanded Karlskrona facility will begin in Q2 2027, slightly ahead of the original schedule.

NKT ties cash generation to a four-priority capital allocation framework

The company said it will maintain a robust balance sheet, targeting net interest-bearing debt to operational EBITDA below 0x. Beyond balance-sheet discipline, NKT will direct capital toward organic growth and strategically aligned, value-accretive acquisitions, commit to a minimum annual dividend of 20% of adjusted net profit with an ambition for a stable payout per share, and return excess cash via share buybacks or extraordinary dividends when conditions allow.

Karlskrona expansion to create the world's largest offshore power cable factory

NKT confirmed the Karlskrona site expansion remains on track to become the world's largest offshore power cable factory, with commercial operation now expected in Q2 2027 -- ahead of the original plan. The earlier start is intended to support execution of NKT's Transmission order backlog and its 2030 financial ambitions.

EUR 2bn investment programme underpins medium-term ambitions

NKT reiterated that its medium-term financial ambitions, first communicated in Company Announcement No. 25 on 19 November 2025, remain unchanged. Execution of the company's EUR 2bn investment programme, alongside cash generation and capital discipline, was highlighted as central to reaching those targets. The 2026 financial outlook communicated in Company Announcement No. 11 on 13 August 2026 was also left unchanged.
