Novogradac Sets Oct. 22-23 NMTC Conference to Tackle Housing Finance

New Orleans – September 28, 2026 -- Novogradac will convene community development entities, investors, developers and advisors at The Roosevelt New Orleans on Oct. 22-23 for its 2026 Fall New Markets Tax Credit Conference, focused on how NMTC financing is being deployed for housing-related development amid tightening market conditions.

Conference agenda targets compliance and allocation strategy

Sessions will cover the state of the NMTC program, an investor panel on market perspectives, an NMTC compliance overview, and how CDEs, investors and sponsors are positioning for current and future allocation cycles. Organizers say increased regulatory scrutiny is reshaping compliance expectations for program participants.

Elphick cites housing-focused investments as growth area

Brad Elphick, a partner in Novogradac's metro Atlanta office and conference chair, said NMTCs will play an increasingly important role in financing developments serving low-income communities as market conditions shift. He pointed to housing-focused investments as a key area for new financing strategies discussed at the event.

Major banks and law firms co-host the event

The conference is co-hosted by BakerHostetler, Capital One, Dudley Ventures, Fifth Third Bank, Jones Walker LLP, J.P. Morgan, Nixon Peabody LLP and U.S. Bancorp Impact Finance. Sponsors include Barnes & Thornburg LLP, Butler Snow LLP, Cherry Bekaert, Elkins PLC, Enterprise Community Partners, Ginsberg Jacobs LLC, Greenline Ventures, Husch Blackwell, National Trust Community Investment Corporation, Polsinelli, Smith NMTC, TD Bank, Travois and Truist. Pre-conference workshops address NMTC basics and for-sale housing
