Tokyo – October 11, 2026 -- NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS, Inc. will propose and sell Classiq's quantum software development platform to Japanese enterprises under a memorandum of understanding with Classiq Technologies G.K., the Japanese subsidiary of Classiq Technologies Ltd.
Partners split roles between platform supply and enterprise deployment
Classiq will supply the platform plus technical support on quantum algorithms and quantum software. NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS, formerly NTT Communications Corporation, will bring its experience deploying advanced technologies in enterprise environments. Together they will help customers identify, develop and validate quantum computing use cases through joint engagements, build enterprise quantum readiness and facilitate access to quantum computing resources.
Platform targets hardware lock-in and developer skills shortage
Quantum software development requires specialized expertise, because developers must account for superposition and entanglement and may need to adapt circuits to different hardware architectures. Classiq's platform combines agentic AI interfaces, its Qmod high-level modeling language and an automated synthesis engine that turns functional models into optimized quantum circuits.
The platform supports simulators and quantum hardware based on superconducting, neutral-atom, trapped-ion and photonic architectures. Developers can run algorithms across these hardware types without rewriting code, and customers can choose targets by application requirements and machine time availability.
Cloud access to gate-based machines moves Japanese firms from research to evaluation
Expanding cloud access to gate-based quantum computers is letting more Japanese organizations move beyond research and evaluate applications. The source cites materials development, drug discovery, financial risk analysis, and logistics and network optimization as target areas.
Yuichi Ikejiri, Head of the Innovation Center at NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS, said the company will work with customers to identify where quantum computing can create value. Akira Tanaka, VP and Head of APAC at Classiq, said the combined offering can help organizations move from learning about quantum computing to developing applications around their own business challenges.
NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS extends quantum activity beyond its 600 km QKD network
NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS serves manufacturing, financial services, logistics and public-sector customers. It is also developing a wide-area quantum-secure communications network using quantum key distribution, and security technologies based on post-quantum cryptography. Construction of the network, which spans approximately 600 km across Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, was announced June 30, 2026.
