New Haven, Conn. – September 18, 2026 -- Feeding Families Foundation has received a $121,500 donation from the Association of Contracting Plumbers City of New York Inc. (ACP), proceeds from the trade group's annual "Plumbing Industry Day" Charity Golf Outing at Old Westbury Golf & Country Club.
ACP's charity golf outing raises six-figure sum for hospital meal program
The event brought together members of New York's plumbing and contracting industry for a full scramble across the club's three nine-hole courses, followed by a cocktail reception, dinner and charity presentation. Robert Greenberg, President of ACP, said the association wanted to back an organization with "a clear mission and a proven ability to turn support into results."
Donation funds expansion into New York City and Long Island hospitals
Feeding Families Foundation, a Connecticut-based nonprofit, will use the funds to continue its Parent Plate Program, which covers and delivers meals directly to hospital rooms for parents and caregivers of hospitalized children, with no application or eligibility requirements. The organization is now exploring partnerships with additional children's hospitals throughout New York, including New York City and Long Island. The Foundation has provided tens of thousands of meals to caregivers through partnerships with children's hospitals nationwide, alongside its Local Food Fare Program, which works with local restaurants to supply donated meals at participating hospitals.
ACP executive board member nominated the foundation over personal connection to founder's story
Vincent Aspromonte Jr., Founder and President of Aspro Plumbing, Inc. and Secretary on ACP's Executive Board, nominated Feeding Families Foundation as this year's beneficiary. Aspromonte said he was familiar with the story behind the Foundation, which was created after co-founder Jeff Dorman's daughter was diagnosed with leukemia. "What moved me was seeing them take something so difficult and turn it into something positive that can help other families," Aspromonte said.
Jeff Dorman, Co-Founder and Chair of Feeding Families Foundation, called the donation "a vote of confidence in our mission," adding that it would translate into more meals, stronger hospital partnerships and continued program growth. Terence O'Brien, Executive Vice President of ACP, said the donation is aimed at putting food directly in front of parents who are focused on their child's care.
