Frisco, Texas – October 01, 2026 -- PakEnergy has launched OnPing Plunger, an AI-powered optimization system that has delivered revenue gains of 3.5% to 7% on already well-optimized gas wells and up to 30% on wells that were set conservatively and left unmonitored.
Pak AI continuously tunes plunger lift wells without adding staff
Plunger lift remains one of the cheapest methods to keep aging gas wells producing, but its returns depend on expert attention that operators cannot scale across every well. OnPing Plunger, powered by PakEnergy's Pak AI engine, learns each well's best historical runs and continuously compares actual performance against expected output, adjusting setpoints within an operator's existing automation and safety limits or flagging wells for human review.
System targets tubing differential, afterflow timing and pressure thresholds
The platform optimizes setpoints across tubing differential, afterflow timing, and pressure thresholds, while drift detection flags wells deviating from normal operating patterns. Three operating modes govern deployment: Off, which surfaces opportunities without making changes; Manual, which recommends adjustments for operator approval; and Auto, which applies governed adjustments within established safety limits.
Ryan Lailey, Chief Product Officer at PakEnergy, said operators consistently have more wells than personnel available to monitor them, and the wells needing the most attention are often those untouched for a year.
Tool is SCADA-agnostic, with legacy controllers bridged via Lumberjack
OnPing Plunger works with SCADA systems meeting polling and real-time access requirements. For wells running on legacy non-digital controllers, PakEnergy's Lumberjack digital controller brings them into scope for optimization.
Availability begins October 1, with a live webinar scheduled for October 29
OnPing Plunger became available as an add-on for qualified wells starting October 1, 2026. PakEnergy will host a live webinar on October 29 covering field results and the process for qualifying and bringing wells online.
