Piscataway, N.J. – September 25, 2026 -- Parker Health Group has named Mark Lenhard, MS, LNFA, as its next President & CEO, succeeding Roberto Muñiz after nearly 28 years of leadership at the nonprofit aging services provider.
Lenhard joins Parker in December 2026 from United Methodist Communities
Lenhard currently serves as President & CEO of United Methodist Communities (UMC) and the UMC Foundation, a faith-based nonprofit network spanning nine senior living communities, a home- and community-based services platform, a consulting arm, and a philanthropic foundation. He is expected to join Parker in December 2026.
Lenhard built BEAM Consulting and Connexion Communities at UMC since 2022
Since joining UMC in 2022, Lenhard led the launch of BEAM Consulting, which helps senior living organizations modernize infrastructure and deploy technology, including artificial intelligence, to improve efficiency and service delivery. His tenure also produced Connexion Communities, a new UMC subsidiary that expanded the organization's senior care operations beyond New Jersey.
Lenhard brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across senior living, life plan communities, long-term care, post-acute care, and home- and community-based services. He holds board roles with the Methodist Ministry Network and Caring Communities and speaks regularly for LeadingAge New Jersey & Delaware.
Muñiz grew Parker from two nursing homes to serving 16,000 older adults annually
Muñiz joined Parker in 1998 and expanded the organization from two nursing homes caring for approximately 110 residents into a comprehensive aging services network now serving more than 16,000 older adults and their families each year through residential, home-based, and community programs. Under his leadership, Parker established the Parker Advanced Care Institute with VNA Health Group and the Parker Health Group Division of Geriatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Muñiz also completed a two-year term as Board Chair of LeadingAge, the national association representing more than 5,400 nonprofit aging services providers.
Board Chair Steven Landers says the CEO search drew "many extraordinary candidates"
Steven Landers, MD, MPH, Chair of Parker's Board of Trustees, said selecting the next CEO was the Board's most important responsibility this year and that Lenhard's aging services experience and track record of innovation distinguished him during the national search. The search process incorporated input from care partners, residents, program participants, family members, organizational leaders, and Trustees.
Only two individuals have led Parker as CEO over the organization's past 50 years. Muñiz will retire by the end of 2026, with Parker's leadership team and Board working alongside Lenhard as he transitions into the role.
