Ft. Meyers – October 12, 2026 -- Peak Nanosystems has won two innovation awards in two months, taking a Gold Edison Award for its capacitor films in April and the 2023 German Innovation Award for Excellence in May for its LGRIN lenses.
Capacitor films earn Gold Edison Award in April
The Edison Awards presented the Gold honor at a gala in Ft. Meyers, Florida. The program has recognized excellence in new product development, design, and innovation since 1987.
Capacitors made from Peak nanolayer films combine high-usage temperature performance, high energy density, and exceptional breakdown strength. According to the company, these properties extend capacitor lifetimes and allow more compact designs, particularly in electric vehicles. Peak also cites significant improvements for grid infrastructure applications.
LGRIN lenses win German Innovation Award in Berlin
In May, Peak received the 2023 German Innovation Award for Excellence in Berlin for advances in its LGRIN lenses. The German Innovation Awards have honored international achievements in design, branding, and innovation since 1953.
Peak Nanolayer LGRIN lenses are central to the company's high-performance defense applications, including night vision goggles, binoculars, and monocular optics. The company says these systems reduce weight, widen the field of view, and sharpen resolution and color.
