PhaseWell Research Acquires Austin CNS Trial Site Community Clinical Research

Pittsburgh – September 18, 2026 -- PhaseWell Research has acquired Community Clinical Research (CCR), an Austin, Texas-based inpatient-capable CNS clinical trial site, in a deal advised exclusively by The Braff Group. The transaction gives PhaseWell, a Shore Capital Partners portfolio company headquartered in Nashville, its first inpatient neuropsychiatric research capability.

CCR brings a 20-bed psychiatric research unit staffed around the clock

The site operates a purpose-built, 24/7-staffed, 20-bed psychiatric research unit designed for complex central nervous system (CNS) studies requiring intensive patient monitoring. CCR's clinical team is led by Dr. Brown, with Dr. Samuel Collier serving as Principal Investigator, alongside Sub-Investigator Reid Luedecke, PMHNP-BC, and Mark Embry.

A 25-year database of more than 1,200 participants underpins enrollment performance

CCR maintains a proprietary participant database built over 25 years, covering more than 1,200 prior trial participants, and a referral network spanning over 150 community organizations across Austin. The site reports meeting 100 percent target enrollment on nearly all protocols it has conducted and holds preferred research provider status with most major contract research organizations (CROs).

PhaseWell expands its multisite trial network with community-based referral infrastructure

CCR's local partnerships with providers, group homes, advocacy organizations, and clinical institutions in the Austin region give PhaseWell an established patient pipeline for future CNS studies. The acquisition establishes the foundation for PhaseWell's inpatient neuropsychiatric research segment within its nationwide network of trial sites and community practices.
