Indianapolis – September 16, 2026 -- Picklr Keystone Crossing will host Special Olympics Indiana's inaugural pickleball state tournament on Sunday, September 13, with 82 athletes from across the state competing for gold, silver, and bronze medals starting at 9:15 a.m.
Tournament follows 2025 training clinic that drew 36 athletes and 27 coaches
Picklr Keystone Crossing hosted Special Olympics Indiana's first pickleball training clinic in 2025, attracting 36 athletes from 12 counties and 27 coaches from 14 counties as participants prepared for the sport's debut competitive season in 2026.
Nine sports championships span August 15 to November 21 across central Indiana
The pickleball championship is one of nine fall state competitions for Special Olympics Indiana, alongside Equestrian, Softball, Golf, Cornhole, Flag Football, Distance Run/Walk, Soccer, and Unified Volleyball. Nearly 3,000 athletes and Unified partners are expected to participate across the events, all of which offer free admission.
Becca Hsu, regional manager for Picklr in Indiana, said the club is "excited to host the Special Olympics Indiana first state tournament" and confident pickleball has been "a great addition to Special Olympics Indiana this year."
Picklr expands Indianapolis-area footprint with two more clubs planned
Picklr Keystone Crossing opened December 21, 2024, as the first Indiana location for the Kaysville, Utah-headquartered franchise, spanning 30,000 square feet with 10 fully fenced indoor courts. Franchise owners Ron Brock and Dave Gilreath, operating as Pickle Indy, LLC, also run Picklr Avon and Picklr Noblesville in the Indianapolis area, with Picklr Greenwood slated to open late 2026 and Picklr North Mass planned for 2027.
