Hong Kong – September 09, 2026 -- Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd. (HKEX: 2318; SSE: 601318) has been upgraded from A to A+ in the 2026 Hang Seng Sustainability Rating, marking the third consecutive annual improvement for the insurer. The upgrade places Ping An's A-shares in the top 10% of both the broader A-share universe and financial-sector peers, while its H-shares rank in the top 20% of Hong Kong-listed companies and top 10% of financials.
Hang Seng rating covers 2,198 constituents across two markets
The assessment, which screens constituents for Hang Seng Sustainability Indexes, covered 636 Hong Kong-listed companies in the Hang Seng Composite Index and 1,562 A-share constituents in the Hang Seng China A (Investable) Index. Ping An has been added to seven major Hang Seng sustainability indexes, including the Hang Seng (Mainland and HK) Corporate Sustainability Index and the Hang Seng (China A) Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index.
Net profit rises 36.1% as revenue tops RMB575 billion in H1 2026
Ping An reported first-half 2026 revenue of RMB575.138 billion, up 15.0% year-on-year. Operating profit attributable to shareholders climbed 8.3% to RMB84.196 billion, while net profit attributable to shareholders surged 36.1% to RMB92.585 billion. Shareholder equity reached RMB1,028.084 billion, up 2.8% from the start of the year. The board declared an interim cash dividend of RMB0.98 per share, a 3.2% increase, extending a dividend growth streak of more than a decade.
Ping An counts 253 million retail customers with 99% multi-product retention
As of June 30, 2026, Ping An served 253 million retail customers, with a 99% retention rate among those holding three or more product categories and 76.6% of customers retained for five years or longer. In the first half, 11.51 million Ping An Life customers accessed healthcare or senior care services, while the group's AI Doctor tool logged more than 9.7 million users. More than 320,000 customers qualified for home-based senior care services.
AI platform now handles 88% of business scenarios for 90 million monthly users
Ping An's AI-powered "Express Service" platform integrates over 300 digital services through a single entry point, enabling AI-driven inquiry and processing across 88% of the group's business scenarios and serving roughly 90 million monthly active customers. A separately upgraded Global Emergency Assistance Service, covering 233 countries and regions, handled more than 1,500 assistance requests in H1 2026, arranged cross-border medical transport for 87 customers, and helped 36 customers evacuate safely from high-risk areas of the Middle East.
Risk-prevention platform helps customers avoid RMB212 million in losses
Ping An's proactive risk-reduction efforts helped customers avoid RMB212 million in losses in H1 2026 through 177,000 natural disaster alerts issued to 120 million customers. Its EagleX Risk Mitigation Service Platform monitored 17 types of safety scenarios for more than 29,000 enterprises, addressing 7,892 identified risks and preventing 66 major safety incidents. Separately, the "Traffic Lights" road safety program has expanded to 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, donating over 40,000 traffic safety facilities and renovating more than 4,400 high-risk road sections.
Green investment balance reaches RMB647.6 billion, carbon emissions down 16%
Green investment from Ping An's insurance funds totaled RMB647.550 billion as of June 30, 2026, alongside a green loan balance of RMB273.416 billion and green insurance premium income of RMB41.346 billion for the half-year. The group's operational carbon emissions fell 16% in 2025 compared with 2024, as it works toward a 2030 operational carbon neutrality target. Richard Sheng, Board Secretary of Ping An, said sustainability remains a core competitive strength underpinning the group's technology-enabled integrated finance and health and senior care strategy.
