Montreal – September 12, 2026 -- PMET Resources Inc. has collected more than 2.5 tonnes of pollucite pegmatite from the Vega Caesium Zone (CV13) at its Shaakichiuwaanaan Property in Quebec, advancing a bulk-sampling initiative called the BerryPick program aimed at feeding downstream caesium chemical testwork.
PMET deploys large-diameter coring to cut sampling costs and speed
The company used very large diameter drill core (~30 cm) drilled through a grid of shallow holes (under 60 cm deep) across the mineralized outcrop, avoiding costlier alternatives such as blasting or PQ coring (8.5 cm). Prior testwork had relied on smaller NQ (4.8 cm) and HQ (6.4 cm) core, which supported only initial-stage programs; the larger fragments better approximate blasted run-of-mine material after crushing, a requirement for feasibility-level data.
PMET targets 500–1,000 kg of pollucite concentrate for partner testwork
The company's stated objective for the current collection round is to generate 500 to 1,000 kg of pollucite concentrate to support ongoing concentrate-production testwork and downstream caesium chemical processing. PMET said it continues to build on its existing relationship with Koch Technology Solutions for chemical processing as it deepens engagement with strategic downstream caesium buyers.
Ore sorting testwork set for Q4 2026, results due first half of 2027
Composited core samples from the outcrop will be submitted for ore sorting testwork, including geochemical analysis, expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, with results anticipated in the first half of 2027. Pollucite identification to date has relied on visual assessment and portable XRF readings on site, backed by prior geochemical assay data; the company cautioned that final grades will only be confirmed once laboratory analysis is completed. Sample collection will continue through the fall as conditions permit.
Vega Zone outcrop previously returned 9.43% Cs2O over 3.0 metres
The Vega Zone at CV13 previously returned channel sampling results of 3.0 metres grading 9.43% Cs2O, as disclosed in an April 9, 2025 release. CV13 sits less than 3 km along trend from the CV5 Pegmatite, itself located roughly 13 km south of the Trans-Taiga Road and regional powerline corridor, with year-round road access.
Shaakichiuwaanaan hosts the world's largest pollucite-hosted caesium resource
The property's caesium Mineral Resource totals 0.69 Mt at 4.40% Cs2O in the Indicated category and 1.70 Mt at 2.40% Cs2O Inferred, which PMET describes as the world's largest in-situ pollucite-hosted caesium pegmatite resource. The site also carries a Consolidated Mineral Resource of 108.0 Mt at 1.40% Li2O and 166 ppm Ta2O5 (Indicated) and 33.4 Mt at 1.33% Li2O and 155 ppm Ta2O5 (Inferred), ranking among the top ten lithium pegmatites globally by size. A late-2025 Feasibility Study on the CV5 Pegmatite declared a maiden Probable Mineral Reserve of 84.3 Mt at 1.26% Li2O, outlining potential production of up to roughly 800 ktpa of spodumene concentrate via a Dense Media Separation-only flowsheet.
