Waging am See – September 11, 2026 -- German precious metals dealer pro aurum has planted its corporate logo across nearly eight hectares of farmland above the Waginger See, using roughly 16 million flowering plants and about 300,000 small-blossom sunflowers in a satellite-guided precision agriculture project developed with GEOXIP AG.
Logo spans 80,000 square meters, visible only from the air
The planted area, equivalent to roughly eleven football fields, forms a lettering reading "pro aurum" that stretches approximately 365 meters long and 50 meters high. The accompanying tagline, "Edelmetalle. Münzen. Barren." (Precious Metals. Coins. Bars.), extends around 300 meters. The full image is only legible from above.
Seed mix combines phacelia, buckwheat, clover and sunflowers for pollinator habitat
The blend includes phacelia, buckwheat, multiple clover varieties, linseed and summer vetch, alongside the sunflowers reaching close to one meter in height. Contrasting leaf shapes and growth heights create visual definition in the design. Company founder and managing director Mirko Schmidt said the project links brand visibility with responsible farming, framing the initiative as a translation of gold's association with lasting value into a living image.
Zero fertilizer or pesticide use; no film, paint or sealing applied
GEOXIP converts the design into digital seeding plans and deploys satellite-guided sowing to place the seed pattern directly into the soil. No fertilizers, pesticides, foils, paints or surface sealing are used on the plot. Honeybees, wild bees and other insects already draw forage from the mix, which company representatives say can sustain them into late autumn; sunflower seeds later provide a food source for birds.
Plants remain through winter before being tilled into the soil in spring 2027
The vegetation will stay on the field through the winter months, when gold- and ochre-toned seed heads are expected to reshape the visible pattern. Regular farming operations will incorporate the plants back into the soil in spring 2027. GEOXIP AG, founded in 2021 in Vierkirchen near Munich, was among three finalists in the "Aufsteiger" category of the 2026 Bavarian Founder Award. GEOXIP board member Christian Seebauer described the company's goal as turning natural landscapes into what he called the world's largest stage for branding.
