Hong Kong – September 20, 2026 -- Reap has launched Sentry, a managed fraud and risk service that eliminates the need for card-issuing clients to build in-house fraud teams or license separate monitoring tools.
Global card fraud losses hit $33.41 billion in 2024, Nilson Report data shows
Payment card fraud losses worldwide totalled USD 33.41 billion in 2024, tied to global card volume of USD 51.920 trillion, according to The Nilson Report's January 2026 figures. Reap cites the millisecond nature of authorisation decisions as the reason fraud must be intercepted at the point of transaction rather than remediated afterward.
Sentry manages the entire transaction risk lifecycle for card clients
The service configures fraud rules, screens authorisations in real time, investigates alerts, processes chargebacks, and reports confirmed fraud to Visa. It is built on the technology underpinning Reap's issuing portfolio, drawing on fraud patterns observed across millions of cards issued over eight years.
Controls are tailored to each client's cardholder base and risk profile
Sentry adapts its screening logic to a client's cardholder segments, geographic footprint, and stated risk appetite. It continuously updates controls in response to emerging threats such as BIN attacks and merchant breaches, and delivers program performance reporting on an agreed cadence.
Reap draws a clear line on fraud responsibility between issuer and client
Reap protects the authorisation layer it operates, while clients retain responsibility for the cardholder relationship and first-party fraud entry points, including onboarding, identity verification, and account access. Clients integrate with Sentry through a single Reap API.
Harris Leow: fraud-team buildout can delay card launches by months
"Most companies launching a card programme have to build a fraud function from day one," said Harris Leow, Head of Product at Reap. He said such buildouts require specialist tooling and dedicated expertise, often taking several months before a single card can be issued safely, by which time the threat landscape may have already shifted.
Sentry rolls out to new clients and existing accounts at renewal
Sentry is available immediately to new Reap card issuing clients and to existing clients upon contract renewal, accessible through Reap's own API.
