RegimeSignal Posts 84% Average Accuracy Across S&P 500 Cycle Signals

Santa Barbara, Calif. – September 15, 2026 -- Cronus Market Intelligence, LLC disclosed that its RegimeSignalTM platform posted an average 84% out-of-sample accuracy across four signals tracking the full S&P 500 market cycle, with bear signals hitting 86%, correction 84%, pullback 83% and recovery 82%.

Four signals cover every stage of the market cycle

Each accuracy figure represents the share of signal fires that were correct, measured on an out-of-sample basis. The recovery signal, the weakest performer at 82%, is described as a historical upper bound and was the specific signal flagged with qualifications in independent review.

Two PhD reviews and one engineer validated the models

Independent PhD reviewers reproduced the bear, pullback and correction signals against locked results and issued a "Validated with Qualifications" conclusion. A separate engineer force-simulated all four regime states and returned a VERIFIED assessment. Babulal Sah, an ISTQB Certified Tester who served as independent reviewer, said the software operates as designed and that its values and signals are driven by live data.

Platform extends beyond the S&P 500 to stocks, sectors and global indexes

RegimeSignal also screens individual stocks, sectors and global indexes, issuing reports on covered names. Cronus clarified that the 84% average accuracy figure applies strictly to the four S&P 500 regime signals and does not extend to the stock, sector or index coverage layers.

Current reading places S&P 500 in Bull Strengthening territory

At the September 8 market close, RegimeSignal rated the S&P 500 as Bull Strengthening, with a Composite Market Score of 67.8 and an OFFENSE stance, with no risk cycle signal firing. The platform's year-end range for the index, set at 7,892 to 8,542 on August 4, is fixed at publication and will be evaluated for accuracy on December 31.

Founder positions tool as cycle-stage indicator, not directional call

Kip Lytel, CFA, founder of Cronus Market Intelligence, said most models simply indicate a bull market, while RegimeSignal aims to identify where in the cycle the market stands and what signal is likely to fire next.

Cronus Market Intelligence is not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer, and the company states RegimeSignal is informational only, not investment advice. The company noted that results reflect historical walk-forward out-of-sample testing and are hypothetical, with past results not guaranteeing future performance. The year-end range is not presented as a price target and is based on a small sample size.
