Chicago – September 19, 2026 -- Relativity has integrated its Relativity aiR legal AI platform with OpenAI's ChatGPT Enterprise using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), allowing legal teams to manage case operations through natural language commands.
Legal teams can now stand up matters directly from ChatGPT Enterprise
The integration lets users create new matters, align workspaces to existing data structures, and manage access and workflows in Relativity aiR without leaving ChatGPT Enterprise. Relativity says the connection preserves the security and permissions of existing legal workflows while keeping substantive data analysis inside its own platform.

The MCP link creates a conversational execution layer over Relativity aiR's core workflows
Relativity describes the integration as extending its AI platform and partner ecosystem, giving administrators a way to run enterprise legal workflows without switching between systems. The company says its broader MCP strategy is built to connect Relativity aiR to whichever AI applications legal teams adopt next, while keeping defensibility anchored in its own platform.
The OpenAI partnership dates back to 2024, when ChatGPT Enterprise became a Collect data source
That earlier integration allowed legal teams to collect ChatGPT Enterprise activity logs and conversation content for review in a near-native format, laying groundwork for the current MCP-based expansion.
Relativity is set to detail the OpenAI connector activation process at RelFest Chicago, running Sept. 29 through Oct. 1.
