Lausanne, Switzerland – – September 12, 2026 -- Revizto Academy, the free digital coordination training program run by AECO collaboration platform Revizto, has awarded more than 13,500 certifications to professionals in over 60 countries since its 2024 launch, the company said marking the program's two-year anniversary.

Learners from more than 500 AECO firms have completed the program, including staff from AECOM, AtkinsRéalis, Jacobs, Mortenson and Stantec. The training offers three certification levels aimed at building digital coordination skills for increasingly complex project environments.
NCCER warns 41% of the US construction workforce could retire by 2031
The National Center for Construction Education and Research projects that roughly 41% of the current US construction workforce will retire by 2031, intensifying pressure to recruit new entrants while transferring institutional knowledge. Revizto Founder and CEO Arman Gukasyan said the challenge extends beyond headcount. "The skills gap in construction isn't just about headcount. It's about knowledge transfer," Gukasyan said, noting that technology shifts are simultaneously changing what new workers need to know.
Anthropic's 2026 research found construction relatively less exposed to AI disruption than many occupations, reflecting reliance on physical intelligence and on-site judgment. Even so, AI is already altering how teams process information and automate repetitive tasks, the company said.
44% of firms are upskilling existing teams as automation reduces manual work
Revizto's 2026 Digital Design & Construction Report, based on responses from more than 2,000 AECO professionals across eight international markets, found 44% of firms are upskilling existing teams and 40% are deploying automation to cut manual work. Separate research from the National Association of Home Builders found that interest in construction trades among 18- to 25-year-olds has doubled over the past decade, rising from 3% to 6%.
Robert Alzuarde, former Innovation Leader and Strategy Manager at Canadian construction firm Pomerleau, said Revizto Academy helped standardize new-user training across the company, ensuring staff operate from a consistent product knowledge baseline while reducing time demands on internal trainers.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo embeds Revizto Academy certifications into construction management coursework
At California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, Revizto has been incorporated into Construction Management teaching, giving students hands-on exposure to object trees, search sets, takeoffs and 2D/3D coordination workflows used on live projects. Students complete Level 1 and Level 2 Revizto Academy certifications before graduation. Professor Jeong Woo, the department's head, said the goal is for students to be "ready day one," understanding how construction professionals coordinate and solve problems beyond classroom software training.
Brennan Behrens, VDC Specialist at PCL Construction, said proficiency in the field guarantees continued demand, while Seim Lei Yati, Digital Construction Coordinator at StructureTone UK, described digital construction roles as requiring communication and workflow management skills beyond modeling software alone.
Revizto Academy remains free for students, job seekers and working professionals, offering both full certification tracks and shorter Essentials courses focused on individual tools.
