Riverside Theatre Names Ex-Viacom Executive Gibilterra as CFO

Vero Beach, Fla. – September 23, 2026 -- Riverside Theatre, Florida's largest independent nonprofit professional theatre, has appointed Robert (Bob) Gibilterra as Chief Financial Officer, effective October 2026, placing a nearly three-decade Viacom finance veteran in charge of the organization's next growth phase.

Gibilterra will oversee accounting, budgeting and long-range financial planning as Riverside expands its campus

The CFO role will manage financial operations, risk management, and strategic planning as the Vero Beach-based theatre advances plans for a more flexible, expanded campus. Gibilterra relocates to Vero Beach to take up the position.

Executive brings Viacom, MTV Networks and live-events finance background to the nonprofit sector

Gibilterra spent nearly 30 years at Viacom and MTV Networks, rising to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Viacom's Global Entertainment Group after roles across MTV and Nickelodeon. He most recently served as CFO of Original X Productions (OGX)/Superfly Media Experiences, a live-entertainment company focused on immersive festivals and experiences.

National search led by DHR Global identified the hire ahead of theatre's expansion push

The appointment followed a national search conducted by Michele Counter of DHR Global's Arts & Nonprofit Practice. Jon Moses, Riverside's CEO and Producing Artistic Director, said Gibilterra's experience guiding creative organizations through growth and complexity would strengthen the theatre's foundation as it pursues artistic, educational and campus expansion goals.

Gibilterra holds an MBA in Communications & Media Management from Fordham University, a BBA in Accounting from Adelphi University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
