San Francisco – September 23, 2026 -- Robot.com and Grubhub have signed a three-year extension expanding autonomous delivery to 10 additional college campuses, pushing total active deployments across the Grubhub Campus platform past 20 nationwide as the 2026-2027 school year begins.
Four-year partnership now includes robot-powered advertising
The extension deepens a relationship dating to 2022, when Grubhub first signed Robot.com as a delivery partner across its higher-education network. The renewed agreement adds Robot.com's R-ads advertising platform, converting delivery robots already on campus into interactive brand-experience units for students.
University of Southern Indiana fleet surpasses 25,000 deliveries
At the University of Southern Indiana, one of the original campuses under the 2022 agreement, Robot.com's fleet has completed more than 25,000 deliveries to date. At Loyola Marymount University, order volume rose nearly 70% and active users grew nearly 30% in the first quarter of 2026 compared with the prior quarter.
Executives cite operational track record behind renewal
"Four years of operations across our mutual campuses have given us a level of integration and reliability that is hard to replicate," said J. Kim Fennell, Chief Business Officer of Robot.com. Rob DelaCruz, SVP and GM of Grubhub Campus, said autonomous delivery has become part of students' daily routine once they gain on-demand access.
REMI platform orchestrates fleet as next-gen robots enter pipeline
Robot.com's campus deployments run on REMI, the company's proprietary fleet management platform and physical API layer that integrates, controls, and orchestrates the robot fleet. The company is also developing R-dog, a four-legged concept robot designed for last-100-meter delivery in areas wheeled robots cannot reach, and R-noid, a humanoid robot targeting hard-to-staff roles in food service, logistics, and facilities management.
