Sabre's MCP Server Hits Scale with Nearly 80 Airline, Agency Clients

Southlake, Texas – September 20, 2026 -- Sabre Corporation (NASDAQ: SABR) has moved nearly 80 customers into piloting or full production on its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, a year after launching the technology that lets AI agents book, sell and service travel directly on the company's data and inventory.

Sabre launched its MCP server in September 2025, a full year ahead of rivals now announcing similar agentic AI plans

The server acts as a connective layer allowing AI agents to transact directly against Sabre's travel data and inventory. Clients using the technology include Virgin Australia, Flight Centre, and Internova — spanning its Global Travel Collection, Nexion, ALTOUR and Travel Leaders Network brands — with the company citing real bookings and cost savings already realized.

Sabre's MCP architecture now powers travel-booking applications embedded directly inside ChatGPT and Claude, giving airlines a consumer-facing AI channel they did not have to build themselves. Internova's agency and TMC brands are separately using the server to automate servicing operations.

Sabre argues that capturing this opportunity requires decades of airline and hotel commercial logic, proprietary travel data, and integration depth that neither point solutions nor foundation models can replicate independently. The company positions its global travel data cloud — spanning Air, Hotel, Agency and Payments products on the Sabre Mosaic platform, underpinned by its Sabre IQ intelligence layer — as the infrastructure enabling expansion from airline to hotel products like MindTrip and BizTrip without rebuilding core systems.

"We believe MCP is the next great transformation of how travel is bought and sold in the world of AI," said Shawn Williams, Sabre's Chief Operating Officer, adding that the company ran the MCP effort in parallel with its existing leadership in NDC distribution standards.
