Paradise Valley, Ariz. – – September 17, 2026 -- Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa has transitioned to independent local ownership under a joint partnership between Berger Holdings and RJ Hospitality, backing a multi-year, multi-million-dollar renovation across all 110 accommodations starting in Summer 2027.

The renovation, designed by architecture firm Hart+Howerton, will refresh all 110 guest rooms and casitas beginning Summer 2027, with a target completion date of September 2027. A second phase in 2028 will focus on upgrades to the resort's culinary outlets and its Sanctuary Spa.
Local ownership structure aims to align investment with community ties
Laura McIver, Managing Director of the resort, said the shift to independent ownership ensures the property remains tied to its surrounding community as it moves into 2027 and beyond. The new owners are described as local community leaders investing directly in the resort's service and character.
Property carries recent $7 million events-space renovation into new ownership era
The 53-acre resort, which opened in the 1950s as a Tennis Ranch Club, includes a 12,000-square-foot spa with twelve treatment rooms, tennis and pickleball courts, an infinity pool, and 110 casitas and suites plus eight private mountainside villas. Its meetings and events program recently completed a $7 million renovation, according to the company.
