Santander's Getnet Opens Payments Access in 30+ European Countries

Madrid – October 12, 2026 -- Getnet, Santander's global merchant payments platform, now gives multinational merchants, marketplaces and e-commerce companies access to payment services in more than 30 European countries through a single integration.

The launch extends Getnet's footprint beyond Latin America, Spain and Portugal. It targets merchants that must handle multiple payment methods, regulations and technical integrations as European commerce becomes more cross-border.

Getnet Single Entry Point connects merchants to multiple markets through one integration

The infrastructure, called Getnet Single Entry Point (SEP), also provides access to leading local payment methods. These include Bizum in Spain and MB WAY in Portugal, where Getnet operates as a direct member.

Getnet says the model is already proven at scale in Latin America, where it processes billions of transactions across Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia and Argentina.

Platform covers collection, reconciliation, currency conversion and payouts in 20 currencies

Beyond payment acceptance, merchants, platforms and payment service providers can collect funds, reconcile balances, convert currencies and make payouts through the same infrastructure. The solution initially supports 20 currencies and payouts to 140 countries.

Rubén Justel, CEO of Getnet Europe, said businesses can reach multiple markets through one integration, with transparent pricing and dedicated support, with the aim of helping companies grow internationally while improving payment performance.

Getnet builds partner ecosystem and invests in instant, account-to-account and AI-driven payments

Getnet is building an open partner ecosystem with payment service providers, technology companies and software providers. It is investing in instant payments, account-to-account payments and AI-powered commerce. The company recently completed Latin America's first agentic transaction using Mastercard Agent Pay technology.

Juan Franco, CEO of Getnet, said Europe plays a key role in connecting businesses across regions, including Latin America, North America and Asia.
