SANY Extends Turbine Design Life to 25 Years, Targets 6-7% Lower LCOE

Beijing – October 15, 2026 -- SANY Renewable Energy is raising the design life of its wind turbines from 20 to 25 years, a change it estimates will lift generation profit by 56-58% over the operating period and cut levelized cost of energy (LCOE) by 6-7%. The company announced the upgrade at China Wind Power 2026.

SANY starts the 25-year upgrade with its 915 platform

The longer lifecycle debuts on the 915 platform. SANY says key components are being engineered and fatigue-tested for the full 25-year span, and select 6.X-11.X MW models are already certified for extended life.

The company puts the project-level gain at a 0.8 percentage point uplift in internal rate of return (IRR). It framed the upgrade as a response to market-based electricity pricing and grid integration pressure.

SANY sets a 2030 target to become a leading global wind service provider

The service roadmap cites a fault rate below 0.09 and average recovery within 4 hours. SANY is building toward a self-aware, self-diagnosing, self-deciding and self-operating service ecosystem. Plans include 100% AI digital employee coverage and AI-driven spare parts management.

The company says this service layer closes the loop with the 25-year turbine lifecycle.

UL Solutions and TÜV Rheinland certify SANY technology for global markets

UL Solutions awarded a wind energy certification to SANY's SI-17580 model. TÜV Rheinland issued a design certification for SANY's steel-concrete hybrid tower technology. SANY says both validate its readiness for global markets.

SANY signs JD Industrial partnership on "product + channel + service" model

SANY also signed a strategic partnership with JD Industrial to expand incremental markets through integrated "product + channel + service" collaboration. The source gives no financial terms or timeline for the deal.
