Schattdecor US Appoints New Leadership Team to Drive Strategic Growth in North America

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – May 19, 2025 – Schattdecor US has announced a significant leadership transition, appointing David Sheehan as CEO and Matthias Geisler as CTO, effective October 14, 2024. The new dual leadership model reflects the company’s ongoing growth strategy in the North American surface solutions market and reinforces its commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Strategic Leadership Transition Anchors Future Growth

The leadership change follows the planned departure of longtime CEO Flavio Nunes, who will return to Brazil in July 2025 after nearly a decade leading Schattdecor’s U.S. operations. Under his stewardship, the company achieved several milestones, including expanded production capacity and the acquisition of a lacquering facility in Lexington, South Carolina.

“After 24 years at Schattdecor, I will be leaving this position in July of 2025 to return to my native Brazil. I am sad to leave, but I am proud that there is a renewal in the Schattdecor USA team. Before this change takes place, I would like to thank you. I am grateful for these unforgettable years! I am confident in the capability of our new, multidisciplinary management team, who are primed to move forward with the company’s goals,” said Nunes.

The new board structure aligns with Schattdecor’s global governance model, emphasizing multidisciplinary leadership and seamless operational oversight.

Dual Leadership Model Enhances Operational Focus

David Sheehan will lead commercial operations as CEO, overseeing sales, design, marketing, finance, communications, and human resources. A seasoned executive with deep industry experience, Sheehan previously served as Senior Vice President of Residential Marketing & Product for Mannington Mills, where he demonstrated a consistent track record of strategic planning, innovation, and customer engagement.

“We are thrilled to welcome David to the Schattdecor family,” said Nunes. “His proven leadership skills and deep understanding of the industry make him the ideal candidate to lead our company into the future. We are confident that David will build upon our strong foundation and drive Schattdecor to even greater heights.”

In his own remarks, Sheehan expressed enthusiasm for the new role: “I am honored to join the Schattdecor team and excited to contribute to the company’s continued success in North America. Building on the strong foundation established by Flavio and the team, I look forward to driving innovation, strengthening customer relationships, and exploring new opportunities for growth.”

Working in close partnership with Sheehan, Matthias Geisler assumes the role of CTO, overseeing production and engineering operations across the company’s Maryland Heights and Lexington sites. Geisler brings over two decades of technical and international experience to the position, having previously led global decor printing coordination for the Schattdecor Group.

Operational Expertise Fuels Innovation and Market Expansion

Geisler’s appointment is a key move in reinforcing Schattdecor's position as a technological leader in the surface solutions market. His background includes roles in Brazil and Turkey, and a career path that began with a hands-on apprenticeship at Schattdecor, providing him with deep knowledge of production processes and a global operational perspective.

“I am very excited about this new challenge and the opportunity to innovate and grow our company. The North American market faces many opportunities, and I am confident that through technological advancements we can take a leading role. As our philosophy states, One source, unlimited solutions,” said Geisler.

Continued Commitment to Excellence and Customer Focus

Derick Beitel, Spokesman for the Board and CFO of Schattdecor SE, underscored the importance of the transition. “As Flavio Nunes returns to Brazil, we say goodbye to an experienced leader. He successfully contributed to our positive development in the Latin American and North American markets, embodying Schattdecor’s values and instilling them in his team. We look forward to working with the new management team to expand our portfolio and service offerings for our customers. We wish Flavio all the best and the new management team a successful start.”

This strategic restructuring ensures business continuity while positioning Schattdecor US for continued growth in the competitive B2B decorative surfaces industry. With a collaborative leadership approach and a focus on customer-driven innovation, the company is poised to scale its impact across North America.
