Schule Global Network Hits 100 Schools With Bönen Milestone

Berlin – September 12, 2026 -- Schule Global, the German intercultural education initiative, has enrolled its 100th member institution, admitting Humboldt-Realschule Bönen into its nationwide network.

Humboldt-Realschule Bönen becomes the 100th school in Schule Global's network

The school has maintained a partnership with Indonesia since 2018, intensifying ties through exchange trips starting in 2022. By joining Schule Global, the school aims to expand this Indonesia partnership and integrate global education more deeply into curricula and daily school life.

Schule Global operates a three-year coaching model funded by Germany's federal ministry

Run by the Arbeitskreis gemeinnütziger Jugendaustausch (AJA) and funded by the Federal Ministry for Education, Family, Seniors, Women and Youth (BMBFSFJ), the program is free for all school types. Each participating school sets three goals to achieve within three years and is assigned a dedicated coach to support implementation. The offering also includes training sessions, workshops, teaching materials and access to a nationwide network of participating schools.

Network expansion continues with no cap on future school admissions

Stefanie Schulz, coordinating teacher for Schule Global at Humboldt-Realschule, said being named the 100th school recognized the institution's prior work and motivated further development of its international and intercultural focus. AJA confirmed that additional schools can join the network at any time.
