SEDCO Capital, Wahed Launch Shariah-Compliant Makkah, Madinah Property Fund

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – September 09, 2026 -- SEDCO Capital and Wahed Inc have agreed to launch a publicly offered, Shariah-compliant real estate investment suite targeting Makkah and Madinah, opening institutional-grade access to the Two Holy Cities' property market for retail investors worldwide.

Partnership pairs SAR 50 billion asset manager with New York fintech serving 500,000 investors

SEDCO Capital, a Jeddah-headquartered Shariah-compliant and ESG-led asset manager with more than SAR 50 billion in assets under management, will supply local real estate sourcing and asset-management expertise. Wahed, a global Islamic fintech licensed in nine countries with over $2 billion in assets under management and a 500,000-client base, will provide the digital distribution platform.

Vision 2030 targets 30 million annual Umrah pilgrims, driving demand for hospitality and residential assets

Saudi Arabia's Pilgrim Experience Program under Vision 2030 aims to enable 30 million Umrah pilgrims annually by 2030, requiring sustained investment in accommodation, hospitality, retail, residential property and supporting infrastructure across Makkah and Madinah. The new suite is designed to channel private capital, including international funds, into real assets serving residents, pilgrims, businesses and visitors in both cities.

Product structure follows Wahed's $100-minimum US private real estate fund model

The offering builds on Wahed's earlier launch of a US private real estate fund, which gave accredited and non-accredited investors pooled exposure to residential property from a $100 minimum entry point. The Makkah-Madinah suite is intended to remove barriers that have historically limited overseas individual investors from direct property access in the two cities, including high entry values and a lack of professionally managed investment products.

Executives frame deal as bridge between local expertise and global distribution

Abdulwahhab Abed, Chief Executive Officer of SEDCO Capital, said the firm intends to connect its local real estate capability with a broader investor audience to channel long-term international capital into Vision 2030-aligned opportunities. Mohsin Siddiqui, Chief Executive Officer of Wahed, said the partnership responds to a recurring client question about how to invest in Makkah and Madinah, combining SEDCO Capital's local depth with Wahed's distribution network and digital platform.
