Miami – September 18, 2026 -- SMARTLINEN® has upgraded Ask Debbie, described as the hospitality industry's first AI linen expert, to respond to spoken questions in real time in both English and Spanish. The update lets hotel and laundry staff query operational data by voice instead of navigating reports or software screens.
Ask Debbie now answers spoken questions about inventory in real time
Staff can ask direct questions such as how many bath towels have not returned from the laundry or whether pool towel supply meets daily demand. Ask Debbie processes the query, analyzes the hotel's SMARTLINEN® data, and delivers a verbal answer in either language.
SMARTLINEN® Portal becomes fully bilingual across one shared data set
The bilingual capability extends beyond Ask Debbie to the entire SMARTLINEN® Portal, which users can now switch between English and Spanish. There is no separate Spanish system or duplicate database. One team member can operate in English while another accesses identical real-time data in Spanish on the same platform.
CEO frames the update as reducing reliance on manual data searches
"The objective is simple: make information accessible through the most natural interface available -- conversation," said William Serbin, President and CEO of SMARTLINEN®. He said the goal is to let employees ask a question and get an answer immediately, rather than searching reports or analyzing screens.
SMARTLINEN® positions the combination of AI, real-time data, voice interaction and bilingual access as the next stage of its intelligent textile management platform, used by hotels to track linen and terry inventory, circulation and utilization.
