Windsor, Calif. – September 12, 2026 -- Stäubli will present electrical and fluid connectivity solutions for semiconductor tool manufacturers at Semicon West in San Francisco this October, as chipmakers push suppliers to cut equipment qualification times and boost tool uptime.

Connector reliability targets over 100,000 duty cycles to protect yield

Stäubli's electrical connectors are engineered to maintain contact integrity across more than 100,000 cycles, operate at temperatures up to 350°C, and support lifecycle demands exceeding 10 years. The company states its RF precision components are built to stabilize plasma processes used in fabrication, addressing a persistent risk point where minor connectivity variance can degrade yield.

Fluid systems span cryogenic to 250°C thermal ranges for fab tools

On the fluid side, Stäubli offers non-spill couplings and high-flow, low-pressure-drop cooling systems compatible with liquids, gases, and vacuum environments. These systems are designed to manage thermal loads from cryogenic conditions to 250°C, a range critical for semiconductor process tools that must avoid contamination while sustaining consistent output.

Automated test handling aims to boost throughput without expanding fab footprint

Stäubli said its automation capabilities extend into back-end testing, where automated test handling systems are designed to improve throughput, yield, and test data integrity while reducing the physical space required for testing operations.

Qualification delays remain a direct threat to OEM revenue timelines

The company frames connector and fluid coupling reliability as a lever against qualification delays, which it says can materially affect time-to-production and revenue generation for semiconductor equipment manufacturers.
