Tokoname, Japan – September 21, 2026 -- Tencent Esports Competition Solution (ECS) is providing end-to-end technical support across all 11 esports events at the 20th Asian Games, running September 22 to October 2 at Hall D of the Aichi Sky Expo in Japan.
Esports Programme Spans Six Game Categories and Multiple Publishers
The 20th Asian Games features esports' largest programme in the event's history, with 11 events across six game categories requiring coordination across different game engines, version management systems and device formats. ECS was built to give referees, competition operations staff and monitoring teams a consistent technical framework across this fragmented environment, covering pre-match equipment checks, real-time match monitoring and post-match review.
Three-Stage System Tracks Over 30 Live Indicators Per Match
ECS operates through three components: an Inspection Station that checks player peripherals, devices and competition environments before matches while logging check-in records; a Monitoring Console that tracks more than 30 indicators in real time, including device and network status, while aggregating video feeds such as Player POV, Observer View and Hand Cam; and a Review Room that stores match records and footage for post-match review, record summaries and video archiving.
Platform Builds on Zero-Incident Record From 19th Asian Games
ECS extends Tencent Esports' prior deployment at the 19th Asian Games, where its technical team supported 217 matches with zero technical incidents. Ahead of the 20th Games, the solution underwent three test events between January and June 2026 in Japan, Singapore and Vietnam to validate performance across different venues, competition environments and network conditions, before the team moved into the Aichi venue earlier this month for integrated system testing.
Tencent Executive Frames ECS as Reusable Technical Foundation
Yati Zhang, Director of Tencent Esports, said ECS converts equipment checks, live monitoring and officiating support from manual processes into recorded, traceable and reviewable technical workflows, with the aim of serving as a reusable foundation for esports competitions across Asia and other competitive settings.
OCA Partnership Targets Standardised Esports Systems Through 2035
The ECS deployment ties into the Olympic Council of Asia's 10-year strategic partnership with Tencent Esports running from 2025 to 2035. OCA Director General Husain Al-Musallam said establishing standardised and institutionalised competition systems is a long-term priority for esports in Asia, and described the ECS adoption at the Asian Games as a step toward building an Asian benchmark for competition systems and technical standards.
With ECS now covering all 11 esports events at the Games, Tencent Esports is positioning the platform as infrastructure for increasingly complex multi-title, multi-venue esports environments beyond this single tournament.
