Houston – – October 14, 2026 -- Two Williston Basin wells operated by Chord Energy have run for more than a year without a sand-related pump failure after a single SandBONDTM treatment, extending pump run life 5.5× and 4.7×, TenEx Technologies reported. Both pumps are still running with stable performance, and the wells recorded zero production loss.
Single bullhead treatment replaces rig-based intervention in 10,000-ft laterals
Chord Energy sought to cut pump failures caused by severe proppant production in horizontal wells with laterals of approximately 10,000 ft. TenEx treated two wells with SandBONDTM, a non-resin, atomized aluminum-based sand-control technology.
The treatment is bullheaded directly into the well and followed by a 24-hour soak. It requires no intervention rig, workover, or specialized equipment.
Field data show zero pump failures and 100% regained permeability
TenEx listed the following results from the two treated wells:
- Zero pump failures in both wells
- More than one year of continuous pump operation after treatment
- Zero production loss
- 100% regained permeability
TenEx CEO Miguel Peña said sand-driven pump failures remain a persistent problem in long-lateral horizontal wells across the industry. He said the results show the treatment can break that failure cycle while maintaining production.
TenEx points to sustained pump performance alongside full output
Co-Founder and CTO Amr Radwan described the pairing of sustained pump performance and zero production loss as particularly significant. In his view, the wells continue to produce effectively while proppant is controlled.
