Cannes – October 16, 2026 -- NetShort, a global short-drama platform available in more than 170 countries and over 17 languages, is using MIPCOM Cannes to recruit international partners for original short-drama production and distribution.

North America leads a geographically diversified audience base

The platform serves millions of viewers daily. North America is its largest market, while Europe, Japan and South Korea, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Latin America each make meaningful contributions to its business.

Audience data feeds a loop between writers and viewers

NetShort combines in-house screenwriting and production teams, external creative partnerships and audience data. Insights into pacing, characters and emotional payoffs guide development. After release, audience responses inform future productions. The company says this loop strengthens human creative judgment rather than replacing it.

Cyfendo Targets SMB Code Security as FBI Tallies $20.9B Losses

Mountain View – October 16, 2026 -- Cyfendo, a Silicon Valley application-security startup, has launched an AI platform that investigates software vulnerabilities and prepares tested patches for small businesses, as the FBI's 2025 Internet Crime Report recorded about $20.88 billion in reported losses across 1,008,597 complaints.

Cyfendo reports four critical issues per scanned codebase

According to Cyfendo's own scan data, the company finds an average of four critical-severity issues per codebase, and roughly seven in ten findings are rated high or critical. The company states these results come from projects it scanned, not a representative survey of business applications.

Mews Survey: 63% of Travelers Back AI Rate Tracking, 41% Personalization

Mews Survey: 63% of Travelers Back AI Rate Tracking, 41% Personalization

New York – October 16, 2026 -- Travelers will let AI monitor hotel rates (63%) and translate in real time (56%), but only 44% want it planning itineraries and 41% want it personalizing their room, according to a Mews survey of 3,250 travelers.

The dividing line is whether a task is a chore or a choice. Price alerts and translation require accuracy and speed rather than personal knowledge of the guest. Itineraries and room setup are personal, and 57% of respondents would rather stay in control of their trip than hand decisions to an AI acting on their behalf.

Guests accept AI on shared data but resist inferred data

Travelers are more comfortable with AI using information they knowingly gave a hotel: 61% accept stated preferences and 56% accept past stay history. Acceptance falls for data collected about them, to 43% for online behavior and 34% for external and social data.

CGI Pushes Continuous AI Sensing to Replace Periodic Change Surveys

CGI Pushes Continuous AI Sensing to Replace Periodic Change Surveys

Global – October 16, 2026 -- CGI is advocating "continuous organizational sensing," an AI-based approach that replaces periodic surveys, workshops and retrospective reports as the way leaders track employee adoption of transformation programs.

Existing data sources go unused during transformations

The core problem is timing, not volume. Collaboration platforms, help desk tickets, training feedback, meeting transcripts and open-text comments all carry signs of how change is unfolding. Organizations often analyze them only after the fact, or leave them untapped because of privacy and sensitivity constraints.

CGI lists four blind spots in traditional change management: data that is delayed, fragmented across systems, open to individual interpretation, and analyzed manually after the fact.

CGI: 64% of Clients Plan AI in Core Processes as Insurers Rethink Rating

CGI: 64% of Clients Plan AI in Core Processes as Insurers Rethink Rating

Global – October 15, 2026 -- Some 64% of organizations surveyed in CGI's 2026 Voice of Our Clients insights intend to use AI in core business processes, versus 17% in administrative functions and 15% in IT-only applications. CGI cites the figures as it argues that insurers should treat rating as a connected pricing life cycle rather than an automation task.

Pricing cycles are shrinking from months to days or hours

CGI says traditional rate changes can take days, weeks or even months because sophisticated models require extensive analysis, validation and implementation. Insurers now need to model, test and implement changes in days or, in some cases, hours. Legacy systems force teams to move data among separate tools to test rates, which lengthens cycles.

CGI: 75% of Banks Explore Agentic AI as APIs Become Front Door

CGI: 75% of Banks Explore Agentic AI as APIs Become Front Door

Europe – October 15, 2026 -- 75% of banks are exploring agentic AI, yet 39% remain in the proof-of-concept phase, according to CGI's latest Voice of Our Clients research. CGI argues that lenders must now prepare for customers who delegate product selection to AI agents.

APIs replace the app as the bank's front door

CGI says AI agents will compare, calculate and negotiate based on structured product information, reliable APIs, transparent pricing and lending criteria that software can interpret, rather than on app design. An agent could assess a bank's offering in milliseconds, reject its API and move on to a competitor. CGI frames API quality as a business capability and a source of competitive advantage, not only an IT metric.
