The Albany County Sheriff's Office has upgraded standard Deputy ID cards with UR Codes, allowing partner agencies or citizens to instantly verify a deputy's identity and blocking use of lost, stolen or counterfeit credentials.

Saratoga County enables offline verification for retired officers carrying concealed firearms

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office uses UR Codes to let out-of-state officers biometrically confirm a retiree's active qualification under the federal Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA/HR218), without requiring a network connection or centralized database check.
