Only 22% of Firms Apply Sovereignty Rules to AI Models

Only 22% of Firms Apply Sovereignty Rules to AI Models

GLOBAL – October 27, 2026 -- Only 22% of organizations have applied sovereignty or residency requirements to AI models, against 60% for data, according to a global 2025 survey cited in a new analysis of sovereign AI architecture.

Sovereignty controls thin out higher in the AI stack

The same survey found that 46% of organizations applied such requirements to infrastructure and 32% to applications. The decline leaves a structural blind spot: protecting enterprise data has limited value if the model processing it operates outside the intended control framework.

Brilliant Earth Moves Analytics Into Snowflake, Retires Legacy BI

United States – – October 27, 2026 -- Brilliant Earth has moved more than 100 showroom operations users off a legacy BI platform and onto Posit dashboards running natively inside Snowflake, cutting software license costs while widening self-serve access to governed data.

The luxury jewelry retailer already reprices its diamond inventory daily through an automated model running in Snowflake. That capability prompted the company to adopt the platform. Weekly data science reports captured only moments in time, so Brilliant Earth set out to give decision-makers direct access to the same data and models.

Posit Team runs as a Snowflake Native App on Snowpark Container Services

Brilliant Earth installed Posit Team inside Snowflake instead of maintaining a separate server with its own security protocols. Snowflake roles, user permissions and table access now govern Posit as well.

Snowflake Sets Out Ground-Analyze-Act Framework for AI Agents

Snowflake Sets Out Ground-Analyze-Act Framework for AI Agents

Global – October 27, 2026 -- Snowflake is built around three pillars, Ground, Analyze and Act, wrapped in a governance layer it calls Assure, to let AI agents run open-ended business investigations on enterprise data without copying that data into each agent platform.

The model targets agents that decide which data to examine, learn from each result and choose the next step. A churn probe, for example, could compare customer segments, product usage and support issues, then feed a recommended response into a retention workflow.

Identical +15 eNPS Scores Can Hide Very Different Workforces

Identical +15 eNPS Scores Can Hide Very Different Workforces

Global – October 27, 2026 -- An Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) of +15 can conceal a shrinking pool of promoters, a growing block of detractors and a falling response rate, according to an Alteryx guide on employee engagement reporting for HR and employee experience (EX) teams.

Different workforces produce the same +15 score

eNPS subtracts the detractor share (scores 0–6) from the promoter share (scores 9–10). A group with 45 promoters and 30 detractors scores +15. So does a group with 30 promoters and 15 detractors, which has far more passive employees. The guide recommends reporting the full promoter, passive and detractor distribution with the score. It also recommends reporting the response rate, because a high score drawn from 20% participation is a red flag rather than a mandate.

Spreadsheet Errors Cost Firms $12.9M a Year, Gartner Estimates

Spreadsheet Errors Cost Firms $12.9M a Year, Gartner Estimates

Global – October 27, 2026 -- Poor data quality costs organizations an average of $12.9 million a year, according to Gartner estimates cited in an Alteryx analysis that frames recurring, multi-source reporting as the point where Excel stops being the right tool.

Repeatability, not row capacity, is where Excel breaks

Excel holds more than a million rows per sheet and rarely reaches that limit. The failure comes when source data changes shape, such as a renamed column, a new region added mid-quarter or an extra week in a date range. The manual process then gets rebuilt from memory instead of re-run.

Industry studies cited in the analysis found that 90% of spreadsheets with more than 150 rows contain at least one major mistake. The analysis attributes this to the format, which has no built-in error control, rather than to analyst skill.

Only 14% of CFOs Report Enterprise Value From Finance AI: OneStream

Birmingham, Mich. – October 13, 2026 -- Only 14% of Finance leaders say their AI investments have delivered "enterprise value and decision impact," even though 74% now use AI to reduce manual work, according to OneStream's inaugural Forward Finance Index.

The survey covers 1,300 CFOs and equivalent Finance leaders at mid-market ($500M-$999.9M revenue) and enterprise ($1B-$10B+ revenue) organizations in the U.S., U.K., and France. It benchmarks them across five areas: AI strategy, data, workforce, operations, and IT collaboration.

Only 6% of Finance organizations lead across all five areas

More than half (52%) rank as "Followers," held back by data they cannot fully trust, AI without measurable ROI, limited visibility into operational decisions, disconnected IT roadmaps, and an unprepared workforce. Four in ten executives say data quality issues regularly block or delay AI projects.

CAEVES Launches Context LAKE to Cut AI Token Costs by 47x

New York – October 08, 2026 -- CAEVES Technology, Inc. will make its Context LAKETM platform generally available on October 08, 2026, extending AI data access beyond Microsoft Azure to any public, private, sovereign cloud, or on-premises datacenter environment.

Context LAKE cuts AI token consumption by up to 47 times in internal testing

CAEVES reports that its indexing and enrichment layer reduces the volume of raw content AI assistants must process per query, cutting token consumption by up to 47x and lowering associated AI token costs. Director of AI Innovation Kirk Ryan said the system allows an assistant to query once and retrieve the relevant passages with sources, rather than opening and paying to process file after file.

Setara Builds Benchmark Infrastructure for Fragmented Compute Markets

Chicago – October 02, 2026 -- Setara Financial Corp. has advanced development of its Reference Layer, a benchmark and reference-data infrastructure designed to bring standardized measurement to the fragmented global compute market.

Compute market data remains scattered across hardware, providers and geographies

As artificial intelligence drives investment in GPUs, data centers, power and connectivity, compute has become a critical economic input, yet pricing and performance information remains fragmented across disconnected proprietary data sets. Setara's architecture starts with a governed data model built to standardize heterogeneous compute-market information before it enters benchmark calculation.

Nasuni Acquires DryvIQ to Add AI Content Governance to File Platform

San Francisco – – September 17, 2026 -- Nasuni has acquired DryvIQ, adding AI-powered content classification and governance tools to its unstructured data platform for enterprise and AI workloads. Carlsquare advised DryvIQ on the transaction; financial terms were not disclosed.

Nasuni folds content intelligence into its file data platform to close a governance gap

The deal gives Nasuni's platform content-level discovery, classification, sensitivity detection and automated policy-driven governance, extending visibility beyond Nasuni's own environment into more than 40 cloud and on-premises repositories. Nick Burling, Chief Product Officer at Nasuni, said the company has added edge performance through Resilio, permission-aware AI access through AI Activate, and now governance through DryvIQ within the same year, positioning UniFS as a single foundation to manage, move, classify, govern and activate enterprise file data.
