Legionella Found in 17% of NYC Water Samples Outside Cooling Towers

Washington – September 08, 2026 -- Independent testing commissioned by the Alliance to Prevent Legionnaires' Disease (APLD) found Legionella bacteria in 17 percent of 109 water samples collected from sinks, showers, hose bibs and other fixtures across the Upper East Side outbreak zone, results the group says expose gaps in New York City's current prevention strategy.

Testing detected live, culturable Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 across all three sampled zip codes

The independent consultant collected samples in mid-July across zip codes 10128, 10028 and 10075, the area the City identified as the outbreak zone. Legionella was found in 19 buildings, including 10 exterior hose bibs, seven sinks, one shower and a decorative fountain. Positive samples showed Legionella concentrations ranging from less than 1 to 390 CFU/mL, with Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 confirmed in all three zip codes.

TraceLink, Omnicell Integrate DSCSA Compliance Into Pharmacy Workflows

Boston – September 08, 2026 -- TraceLink has integrated its Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) compliance solution with Omnicell, Inc. (Nasdaq: OMCL) pharmacy inventory management systems, embedding serialized product verification and traceability directly into hospital medication receiving workflows.

Integration eliminates separate compliance tools during medication receiving

The new integration allows pharmacy teams to verify serialized products, access traceability data, resolve verification exceptions, and complete compliance reporting within Omnicell's central pharmacy inventory management workflows as medications are received.

IVA Warns Flat-Rate Fertilizer Aid Fails to Spur Early Farm Purchases

Frankfurt/Main – September 08, 2026 -- Germany's fertilizer industry association IVA has warned that a planned flat-rate hectare premium for EU fertilizer aid will not drive the early purchasing decisions farms need to secure supply for spring 2026.

IVA says hectare premium misses fertilizer action plan's core goal

The Industrieverband Agrar e.V. (IVA) criticized the German Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Home Affairs' plan to disburse EU fertilizer subsidies as a flat hectare payment, arguing the approach undermines the original intent of the European Fertiliser Action Plan to support farmers specifically in purchasing fertilizer. IVA Managing Director Frank Gemmer said the payout structure lacks the steering effect needed to encourage timely buying, and called instead for direct financial support tied to fertilizer purchases.

Datamaran Rebrands as AI Governance Platform for Risk, Legal Teams

New York – September 08, 2026 -- Datamaran has rebranded from an ESG issue-management tool into an AI-powered governance platform, reflecting a shift where General Counsel or Chief Risk Officers now sit in nearly one in three of the company's active deals alongside sustainability leads.

Boardroom risk priorities have moved from long-term watchlists to real-time action items

After 12 years focused on ESG issue management, Datamaran said regulatory complexity and risks tied to AI, trade policy, and supply chains now demand immediate evidence-based responses rather than periodic sustainability reporting. The company launched a new visual identity, brand positioning, and website today, built around signals, evidence, and continuous monitoring rather than sustainability-sector design language.
